This is what you should have said in your best liam neeson " I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my air rifle go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will tickle you" atb dangermouse

It might be worth seeing if you can attend the meeting and offer to give a short talk on the damage rabbit do (which im sure they already know) and the service you provide free of charge to help keep

Allotment holders want vermin killed, they dont spend all there spare time growing stuff for doos rabbit & rats to help them selves.. I reacon you'll be surprised at the out come.. If she says it'

Surely its the land owner who will own the sporting rights to the land and not the allotment renters or there assosiation !

Sadly you cant buy a box of common sense to gift the daft old bat either !

Well with such a bad year for crops any way, she thinks letting rabbit eat the crops that make it will be a good move. Lesson 101 in how to win friends and influence people.... NOT. I bet she is quick to eat her Crimbo dinner with and not worry about the origins of the meat she is eating.... Least like you say mate you have LOTS of permission so its not the ned of the world, could be a very big blow to people with limited permissions :censored: ; allotment association AKA busy bodies who probably never get their hands dirty or know how destructive pests can be!!!.

You should be reminding them that all occupiers of land have a legal obligation to control rabbits on their land to prevent them doing damage to neighbouring property.

Also note that this is regardless of who owns the sporting rights; every occupier has the legal right to kill rabbits and hares, or to employ a 'servant' or other member of his household to do so. I'm not sure if that would apply to individual allotment holders, but suspect that it might.

From reading Matt the Rat's response and all this, I reckon it's possible that, there's a son or two of these Allotment people who have got the air rifle hunting bug and they've asked their mums and dads to boot you off while he/they take over the permission and get the sport. Could this be mate?

That happens with permissions and owners alas Si mate, and nowt' you can do beyond reason if they want you off.

Still, on with the next!

Best wishes Si.

The best outcome to this would be for them to come grovelling back in a year or so pleading with you to control the rabbits that are eating all of their crops. The even better outcome would be for you to tell them to 'get stuffed' or words to that effect. Though I suspect, having watched some of your videos, that you are too much of a gentleman to say exactly what should be said in the way it should be said, if you know what I mean.

Of course, Pianoman could be correct in that a committee member's brat has bought a springer and reckons him self to be a real life 'Quigley Down Under'!

Sadly, the chances are he'll just break a few greenhouse windows, shoot a couple of sheds and get thrown off himself. While the details of this would make fascinating reading, the likelihood is that the 'lady' concerned will say - 'There, I told you so!' and we'll all get tarred with the same brush.

Funny ol' world, innit?
