Arranged to go out with a lad tonight for abit of a mooch as the weather was good, any way just getin ready to leave when a txt came through sayin cant do tonight "woman troubles" lame excuse.... thought feck it ill go out anyway. got my two bitches and of i went. went first little place couple of good runs but no catches. then on the way to the second place done a couple of gates, plenty of stuff around, alot of deer. Arrived at the place first field 2 quick bunnies then couple of misses, hit some big stubbles then a couple of bigger rabbits accounted for. on way back to motor 2 more rabbits. Hard old slog back to the van, carrying the catch and the 17 amp battery and its still raining hard. get back eventually throw everything in and go to head home.. no such luck,vans stuck in the mud. 40 mins lata and covered in mud,i get out and off i go.. enjoyable night lol.

Lamping on your own is the best way I dont drive so walk lol whats happening to people I still go out 4 5 nights a week with a 22amp battery and 6 rabbits thats all my bag carrier holds lol then I go for foxes id only go out with one person at a time not into 5 people lamping all directions out of a 4x4

Been out with as many as four people and five dogs and bearly got a rabbit for each dog. I'm most often out alone and to be honest to get the best out of a dog I think that that is the way but nothing quite like going out with a good mate on a good patch of ground with a dog each.

 

Last night was a bit of a misserable one but f**k me was there some game about.....

Been out with as many as four people and five dogs and bearly got a rabbit for each dog. I'm most often out alone and to be honest to get the best out of a dog I think that that is the way but nothing quite like going out with a good mate on a good patch of ground with a dog each.

lamping not bad on your own but anything happens to the dog i.e broke leg its not easy carry a small lurcher a couple of fields never mind a 25kg dog on your own two people and it/ll be a struggle if your 30mins from car it.d be rough just a thought atb

good lamping buddies are hard to find i got sick of guys slipping their dogs in when it was meant to be a turn each, making too much noise and scaring stuff away and worst of all you find out they go back on behind your back when they promise not to

better on your own just take the phone and your sorted as for people going back on you they get one chance take them some where and if they go back on the land you show them you know there not worth bothering with but i do prefer it just me and the dog had my best nights on my own atb

That happened to me last season. 26" saluki lurcher dead on hitting a post lamping. Had to carry him over 5 big fields and fences to get to the car. I was fooked!
