JohnGalway 1,043
Got my first ever kick off one this year. Was out checking my sisters horses, there's always been leccy tape up, but it's never been powered. Neighbour had horses there earlier in the year and kindly left the energiser unit powered up and attached to a tape across a roadway. I discovered this fact with one leg either side of said tape and had a firm grasp of it How I managed not to kick the energiser down the road ahead of me I don't know

Carraghs Gem 1,675
Buy an electric fence tester... only costs a fiver and tells you if the fence is on or not and how high the electric current is on fence
PeakOil 352
I once got whacked by an upgraded electric fence intended to keep bulls in.
Carraghs Gem 1,675
I got into a bad habit of leaving fence switched on when I fed the pigs.. One day the tripped me... I got my foot caught and recieved the full whack of my mains electric fencer for over a minute before I untangled my foot
The one 8,477
I didn't mind a odd jolt but now days they seem to be run from the mains no a battery and it bloody hurts
Carraghs Gem 1,675
The reason most folk use mains fencers instead of battery fencers is a) because battery fencers are easily stolen and its cheaper to rin a fencer off the mains and c) when the battery is running low the current drops and horses/pigs/sheep/cattle just barge through it
albert64 1,882
i got a belt of a mains fence used to keep a bull in, so when we were doing the same piece of land again i lent the bar on it whilst i was digging, isaid to my pal pass me the bar you should of heard him squeal he still says i did it on purpose
