hi guys, recently bought a 22 air rifle off 1 of my mates it has a short barrel with a silencer on it i have set the sights a number of times and they just seem to be working their selves off target nearly everyday any ideas on what this could be and could it be that the sights are broke or just cheap and rubbish?

may be a bsa, cant you post a picture ?

You may just have crappy mounts. loosen the scope mounts and tighten them up 1 screw a little bit at a time, do the same with the ring screws, dont overdo the ring screws. It is possible that your scope is knackered... or..if you have not shot a springer for a while, you may be holding the rifle too tightly and effecting the point of impact. Try the artilary hold, explained here..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLed_nD5ixA

Or the sight is creeping.

Sounds like the Piled Arms logo of BSA (3 guns in an upright 'tripod' stance with Birmingham Small Arms written around it - or not. Possibly BSA underneath, depending on age)

Scope with a deer sounds like Simmonds - head of a stag?

If the scope is creeping you would feel a pretty rough recoil at each shot. A nice smooth shooting springer doesn't impart as much shock to the system.
