patterdalejoel 669
reading this, i think i had a ferret similar to this die at end of last season, didnt know what the diagnosed term was at the time though. put her out of her misery in the end, wasnt too gutted as she was a poor worker and was going to get the chop anyway. but nice to know what it was and what to do for future if it happens with one of the good workers. Ideation 8,216
Hello all. Thanks for all the kind words, she is still with us, and has got a half decent appetite back, and i'm no longer syringing fluid into her, as she will take a soup of the critical care food, and a bit of mince, made up with plenty of water. Still feeding her every few hours, and she doesnt do much inbetween but sleep, but its nice to see now, that when i go to feed her she wakes up and will walk out of the box on her own, and can walk around the room a bit. Her muscles are still very weak. It makes me realise now, after all of the time, care and food etc i have put into her, just how f****d she was on Sunday, literally like a skeleton. She isn't out of the woods yet, and it could still go either way, but its looking a lot better, and i'm going to keep it up. If she does make it, i think it will be a while before she can work a warren again, but even with her off the a-team for a bit, it will make me a very happy man to have her here. 8 Quote Link to post

Stretch177 39
Great news mate, hopefully she will pull through. You deserve a big pat on the back for the dedication and caring you have shown to her, a few people could learn a thing or 2 from this. Atb 1 Quote Link to post

NEWKID 27,132
Good news mate, well done on the dedication to make sure she had the best chance. Proves all this bullshit "it's only a ferret" doesn't go for everyone. Hopefully she makes a full recovery and is out working warrens sooner rather than later...... 1 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Hello all! Well, i think (and im probably cursing myself here) that she is going to make it. She has perked right up, comes out of the box herself, has started using the water bottle and will have a wander about the room. She seems a bit unsteady on her feet, especially her back legs, but im just hoping that its a bit of stiffness and a lack of muscle. 8 Quote Link to post
