Nice looking dog, doesn't look like a running dog.

Is it a pet aswell or if it doesn't make the grade will it go?

If you are happy with it then that's great. Just the thing with all these different crosses alot of them aren't made for the job and end up in rescues.

what does it matter what anyones opinions are. if you are happy with the dog thats all that really matters. good luck with him.

people on other threads I have started have said with his shape he couldn't never be a runner, I've always kept fast looking racey dogs but a mate if mine said his best dog didn't look like a Lurcher

Well for what it's worth I really like the look of the dog, once he's finely tuned this time next year I think people will see a real tidy animal...looks mean f**k all unless your a model haha, some of

its in the kennel and never comes in the house, I take him out with the family for walks on the weekend but I guess a lot of people do this so not sure what makes them pets. If he only catches a much as he is now then that will do me I've got a big freezer and I know he will fill it, so unless he gets killed I will not be getting rid of him. He is such a character and is so clever.

looks are not important if the dog does the job then who cares about other peoples opinions. if your just doing for rabbits i woudnt of gone for that cross and would have gone for something lighter. but if it does the job then who gives a f**k mate best of luck with the pup i hope it goes well

I think its fair to say he don't look like a running dog but i think he's a nice looking dog. I think a lot of people don't understand how sledge dogs would of been used to hunt with as well as pull heavy weights. If it was me I would have to get the dog a sledge harness and one of those scooters they use and get out on the bridal paths. Would get the dog fit as possible and what a scream it would be tearing it up. The extra speed the Greyhound and Suluki would give it you would be flying. :boogy:

Strangely I kinda like the non discript mongrely looking dogs like that, not what I would keep but kinda looks like the multipurpose sled dogs in Alaska. Doesn't look like a lurcher but if he can work the lamp like one then that's fecking great. Based on looks and looks alone that dog isn't ever gonna make a point a slip day dog but for lamping I imagine it may well be handy.

I prefer a lurcher to have a fair bit of pace.
