The one 8,482
I find thats the same and if you dig them out there clawing away at the rabbits rear ,a few times they kill the rabbit and are latched on to it but if you gave them time they leave it and hunt on . But if there hungry they kill it and feed on it and that ferrets working days over as it just ready to sleep Quote Link to post
whippet 99 2,613
it you wont feel like eating there fore get less lie ups........ I don't really buy into "if a ferret has food in its belly or not will prevent lie ups", a good ferret wants to kill rabbits whether fed or not there murderous little buggers by nature. Most lie ups are arsed up rabbits which simply don't want to bolt for a number of reasons. I don't believe lie ups are caused because the ferret decides it wants to chow down on a coney as its hungry. In my fairly limited experience it just wants to kill the rabbit, and often will move on again. disagree if a starving ferret has one in stop end it will kill it and eat it ,.............it wont move on if its starving ,............what do wild ferrets eat when there starving? they just kill and move on lol if there werent no lie ups ,.....you wouldnt need a finder i feed mine as said before working and mine kill and come away ,.............if anything is hungry enough it will stay and eat ,..........dont care what any one says Quote Link to post
Sirius 1,391
What I am saying is most are going to happen anyway, due to arsed up sticking rabbits and stop ends etc. I agree if the poor fecker is staving and not been fed for days of course its going to eat at first opportunity , but who seriously works there ferrets in a state like that?. Giro 2,648
All joking aside, people should respect their little workers, treat them right and feed the poor fuckers for f**k sake Hungry and weak ferrets are not going to give there best 2 Quote Link to post

leec 132
surely a ferret that leaves a kill or a rabbit assed up will equally leave one thats reluctant to bolt? not for me killed or assed up i want um out? Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
All I can say is they must of been bloody starving, I don't think I have see heard or know anyone who has dug down to a ferret curled up having 40 winks in a warren? your a lucky man then ive heard of lots of such cases Quote Link to post

Them same ferrets will fall asleep as soon as they get into the box and will tear into a bunny if you give it to them above ground, but still dont eat underground. Quote Link to post

TOMO 26,248
IDE agree , can't say I have ever seen a ferret asleep underground......................apart from once,, we had lost a hob, early in the day , despite searching with the locator in a deep bank,,,, As we approached the last warren off the day,,, a few hundred yards down the bank,,, we spotted 3 or 4 bunnys drop to ground, netted up ferret in rabbits start to bolt,,, then quiet,,, out with the box ,, dig down a foot or so,, and theres the hob curled up fast asleep,, no dead rabbit or anything,,, the interesting thing was the fact the rabbits were in there with him,, he realy was a useless ferret though Quote Link to post

Brimmer 220
Do people think ferrets are well fed if they have a pile of dried cereal in their cages 25 hours a day? Quote Link to post
