How Long Should Wire Be

Recommended Posts

I do love a smart arse

I know he uses a spinning weight but I can't seem to find one. The tool he uses with the spinning handle also is a bit to bulky for the space I have.

I'm also at work at was going to pick up a bit of timber on the way home just wasn't sure what size.

Thanks for your imput. It looks as if your mind is the same as your username :whistling:

You won't find one as they don't exist.....you need to go into a local fabrication shop and get them to make one for you, the easiest way is to cut a length of solid round bar approx 3" / 4" in diameter ...., vary the length to achive the required weight wich is normally around the 7lb mark....once you've got your bar drill a small hole in the top and weld a heavy duty cup hook in...the "winders" are available on ebay and there very small.., if you want a large or medium size then look for a vintage hand grinder, if you want a small one then search out a darts sharpener....again a visit to a local fab shop would be worthwhile as they can turn you a boss & fit a hook.......oh & the wires ,22 1/2" finished length......
