I shot two a few weeks ago near Stroud that were jet black... one 3/4 grown and a 1/4 grown nipper. There was nothing in-between which quite suprised me... the were either jet black or tan brown. Just need some albino's there now and we'll have ourselves the multi-cultural utopia that Labour keep banging on about

Never actually caught a jet black myself. But Bedhapmpton Waterworks, just to the north east of Portsmouth along the rail track there used to be fairly heaving with them, last time I passed that way. I also saw an individual one in some woodlands edge around about Basingstoke or somewhere like that. Doing a bit of work up there and as we pulled onto the A road, this one appeared directly opposite the motor.

Can't really say as I've ever personally encountered the other colours people speak of. Though a mate reckons he's had blue ones from the outskirts of Pompey too. On the north western side, funnily enough.

HI,

Just to add my two pennies worth. Blacks are fairly common here in Perthshire - for a couple of years I was watching a tan one with white shoulders - might have been a released pet but I don't think so. Only oddity I ever came across was a very bright orange rabbit which I didn't shoot at because I thought it was a cat, but when I got closer it took off and was definately a rabbit, bright orange/red like a fox in colour, almost.

Oh and then there's this rare picture of the haggis bird I got a few years back too - hmmm, how to add a picture ? - I think it's attached to this post.

Tight Lines
