You will find rebluing can be a very expensive repair. Try to get a quote from companies who carry out metal finishing services. you will find that a "parkerised" finish is good on steel components, anodising and other treatments are available the same as the original ones on the alloy parts, ie, breech assemblies, loading bolts.etc, :yes:

Somebody on here a while back and I can't remember who it was now, may have been phantom suggested rubbing the barrel down lightly in the areas of slight pitting or rusting with tinfoil then rubbing the area with an oiled cloth.

 

My only question is what is the best oil to rub the area with? Oil has so many different types. I want to try this method on an old mk2 tx200 I have which has some pitting in places on the barrel where it was stored in its gun bag for 10 years without use.
