Now we're back on the slide into the dark ages :( If ye haven't got that outside work done yet? Better get ye finger out! Soon it'll be dark at 16:00 again and pissing down with rain the whole time.

Anyone else thoroughly pissed off about it?

Me, I bloody hate the summer: too hot for the dogs, lush green stuff everywhere, trying to find somewhere where the dogs aren't madly running squeakers in head high grass is nigh on impossible. Sorry, rant over: roll on autumn!

Ive liked the eavnings out shooting or sitting outside reading a decent magizne listening to the woodpigeons gurgling and songbirds. But could not really give a toss about how light or dark it is now ;)

Julie - I am so glad you posted that. I have a wasp nest that I need to sort out during the dark hours and I keep forgetting. I'll go and do it now.

:drink:

In fact it gets better. Done the wasps nest and in so doing discovered the neighbours cat locked in my garage. :thumbs-up: Let out now, but that will teach it.

Must be the quite dramatically differing climates of our countries. September? As I remember it, the first two weeks of september were traditionally among the best in the year. BFSS Hampshire Show was always held then. Guaranteed T shirt weather. All this crap about hunting when there's an " er " on the month went out years ago. Global warming and climatic change has seen to that. I've been around long enough to watch it creeping. Privett blossoming wrong. Then Robins singing at the wrong time. Nearly three decades back I picked up on those warnings. Now it's baby bunnies year round.

Anyway, I've just come back in from sawing a load of gash timber and putting it away in the dry. Today's the first day in over a week without torrential rain. I need dry wood for the coming chill. No flicky switchy make me warmy round here.

I remember my last winter in uk. Snow so thick on the ground for a few days ye needed a snow plough to get to the shops. It doesn't snow here. Just rains. F*ck me, if it snowed I'd be f*cked! :icon_eek: Wouldn't be able to get into town.

Only advantage I see to the winter here is that the poxy cattle are in off the fields and I can see what I'm doing and do it without them getting in the way.

My main gripe though is the simple shortage of man hours left available and the fact that what ever ye want to do has to be done in the rain. And, of course, with all that rain the things ye suddenly find ye need to do is fix leaks! You try pugging up in the pissing rain  What a game I had last time. Trying to stop a pissing leak in my 'stock shed! Hours work in the dry ~ only we barely had any. And now it's all over.

Only one thing for it: :drink: Wasn't so late already, I might even have gone into town! Never mind. I have Mr Daniels here, for a bit of company yet
