porkycrook 466
Hiya all, Wondering if anyone has the answer. Over the last two weeks one of my permissions (it's only a garden), i have shot magpie's, crows and pigeons. After me explaining that there was only one problem that there was only one place i could shoot, that being useing the shed to stop my pellets from leaving her property. She wanted all of the big bully birds "shoooing off" because she likes to sit in the conservatory watching the little birds. How lucky am i because the lady said that her bedroom was at the front of the house. So she went on to explain that she takes in lodgers during the summer months, so now her house is now closed to lodgers. It was then that she offered the use of the back bedroom from which to shoot from, that way my shots had more of the garden to shoot. I was taken back a bit, had i stepped in something, fore the way this shoot is progressing nicely. I have a window to shoot from where i'm sat in the dry (on a bed next to a radiator), i shall have to ask for coffee, smoking jacket and my slippers lol. Well after me waffling again i get to my problem. I have had a few birds and one squirrel but not a huge amount. Well for the last couple of days there has been not a single legal target, although they have been in the area but nothing in the garden. Does anyone think that all species have got wise to me in such a short time. Cheers and Thankyou in advance. Roger Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I dont think they have got wise to you Roger, It's more a case of letting it lie for a little bit until the next 'flock/crowd' move in. Give it a week or two and they will realise that there is a patch with no competition for food and they will move in then you can blatt the bullies again Tony Quote Link to post

walshie 2,804
If she leaves her knickers on the radiator, even more of a bonus. . My own garden has quiet spells. One day ferals, woodpigeons and squirrels, next day like a wasteland. They'll come back. Quote Link to post
The one 8,457
I think you have thinned them out and until the gaps filled again it will be quiet for a couple of weeks . Get her to phone you if she see's any more big bullying birds in the garden that way your no wasting your time sitting there for nowt Quote Link to post

fry 209
if you put a bird feeder on the window cill with the window open (safe shot is the best shot) you could probably bag one whilst lying in the bed with your pj s on saving the lady money on her heating! Quote Link to post
