THE GENERAL 1,982
A few guys I know that are into digging have taken a wild notion to breed these plummerjacks. Personnally I found it hard not to laugh in there faces when i was told as they wouldn't be my cup off tea. Each to there on I suppose. So the question is for a digging dog are they any good ? THE GENERAL 1,982
I don't know much about that type of terrier tbh though I thought they were more rough hunting rabbiting/ratting terriers. Suppose like everything else the breeding has a lot to do with it sand the man running them on. Thanks fella. 1 Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
General, you may well be surprised by what they can do,so long as there is some "remlap" lines in the plummer they've used and its of the right size, not to big and they have both worked fox before then they will produce good workers, not any old plummer will work fox,WM 1 Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,324
we bred some many years ago. they worked to ground. what russell lines are they useing. ? Quote Link to post
bulljack 480
ok if you like diggin 3 or 4 holes for one fox, this has been my experiance of that type only seen one good bitch that was bang on, the rest stayed well back. maybe there are stronger lines around fell types seem to be more suited to the job. 1 Quote Link to post
THE GENERAL 1,982
Wirral These lads have pups ATM from a Russell bitch that I've seen work and worked well on the few occasions I was present. The sire (Plummer) I don't know much about as they havnt elaborated much on it. I just thought I'd put it up on here to see what people's views are. I've never been in the field with a Plummer never mind dug over one so that's why. Quote Link to post
