Belistic tip for 22lr?

Recommended Posts

Sub-sonic, Standard-velocity, High-velocity and hyper-Velocity :

http://en.wikipedia..../.22_Long_Rifle

1640ft/sec should be more than enough for anything you can think of...

Anything more than that and you might as well get a .17HMR

IMHO, beyond subs you might as well go .17hmr

As above do the they do belistic tip

Ammo for a 22lr?

No, (as in V-Max) and it is unlikely they will!

The answer is down to physics rather than wildlife damage!

The .22lr excels as a sub sonic tool, it was never designed for the High velocity ammo that is currently available, which will never group as well as subs.

The real factors with Ballistic tips and .22lr are accuracy issues combined with energy, the little .22lr case/propellant does not have the energy for appropriate Ballistic tip terminal effect!
