wezza 396
Had one, sent it straight back, absolute shite!!! Why they changed from the 'dial dimmer' I do no know? Them button dimmer things are the worst.. Stick with an old lightforce striker variable or get a deben tracer variable Quote Link to post
rob84 112
sorry miss read, my lamp is a striker 170 variable Quote Link to post
killa-combo 142
Is it a diffrent switch on the new ones wezza? Are the old ones same as the deben tracer ones. Is that what you mean by dial? Quote Link to post
Guest Moscow
Deben used to make the old style lightforce variable with a dial on the back for the lightforce range of lamps. When they stoped lightforce brought out the new type dimmer with two switchs and deben continue to make the dial type which is fitted to there tracer range of lamps. Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
The dimmer is fairly slow if going from really dim to full brightness using the dimmer button (maybe a second?), on the other hand, if you pull the trigger again, it'll instantly go to full power beam. The only thing that takes some getting used to is turning it off... You've got to remember to pull then hold the trigger in for a split second to turn it off, if you just pull the trigger and let go, it'll go to full beam, not good when your trying to be sneaky! Also the switches are silent action now, and when I opened it up the wiring didn't look half bad... Still put a cable tie tight inside the red bit from the handle to ensure the circuit board doesn't get pulled about, just in case. Also they still come with that bloody cigarette lighter plug on it, so I swapped that too. Quote Link to post
