the rooster 0
I'm looking to upgrade my scope on my HW 97K .177 Ideally it would be from 4 -16 or so mag and 50mm adj obj have BDC turrets and mill dot ret of some description. A 30mm tube would be ideal but isnt a must and i would like the scope to be no more than 13" long finally as clear a sight picture as you can get for £300 to £400...... Thanks i look forward to hearing your suggestions. Quote Link to post

johnwhit 4
You could try one of these 3-12x44 30mm tube: http://www.leapers.c...tus=&mtrack=1m1 Great scope for the money and it would leave the loading port clear. Available from JSR for under £100 ATB, John Edited October 26, 2012 by johnwhit Quote Link to post

Acuspell 329
nIKON pROSTAFF 4-12X40, ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON - but IT WON'T HAVE MILDOTS, IT HAS A BALLISTIC RETICULE FOR DROP OFF Ooops - soory, damned buttons too small! 50mm objective is a disadvantage as it narrows the depth of field, unless you then have adj obj, which is a right fiddle faddell in the field. Good lenses do not need to be 50mm for light transmission - the 3-9x40 or 4-12x40 prostaff will beat many much more expensive scopes with 50mm front lens for light transmission. Light and compact. I wouldn't go for 30mm tube from preference either. Again, it narrows the depth of field and makes target focus critical. Prostaff reticule, with see through aiming points: I have one on my Rapid and one on my Taunus. Superb and great value for money - around £170. Best price is from A&M Custom Gunsmiths. PLEDGEY 496
just picked a mamba light up today 4=16x44, crystal clear, and for now its a really good scope for 160 Agree, Mamba Lite is a spot on scope. I use it on my CZ 452. Got it to put my night vision on because it has a side para and shit hot optics. Not only would you save shed loads of cash, it's plenty good enough for an air rifle, might get another one for my AA S410 as the Hawke niteeye, i got the old style, has a front para. I prefer the reticle as well. Quote Link to post
