are the rspca feeling the pinch?

Recommended Posts

just had a tap on the door and opened it to find a bloke stood there wearing an rspca tabbard and wellies with a clipboard. He informed me that they were canvassing the area to see if they could rely on people to give them a pound or so via their bank each week because without our support they wouldnt be able to carry on "their good work" next year of bringing cases to court, to which i replied that any spare cash i have will be put towards some new purse nets and i bid him good day and closed the door. Are things that tight for them? hope so.

Noticed there seemed to be more than your normal amount of begging adverts on the box, so hopefully they are feeling the pinch.

They've lost a lot of high profile court cases lately with prosecutions and contesting peoples wills and legacys, maybe Joe public is catching on to the fact the majority of the donations they make don't actually benefit the animals they intended it to.

they may of lost a few prosecutions but when that happens, the costs are usually paid by the public purse (ie you and me), when they are ordered to pay their own f**%%ing costs they might start actually doing the job they are paid by donations to do, as it is i think if a good case was put before the charities commission and an investigation was carried out they mite get their arses slapped

Totally agree.

I thought that for an organisation to have a charity status they were not supposed to have any political affiliations, well clearly they do. I wonder why no one has ever complained to the charity commissions about this?Maybe if the head honchos took a pay cut from their highly inflated salaries, and stopped their persecution of us, the hunting community and concentrated on REAL cases of animal cruelty, they might have enough to go round.

Simple answer is nope.

They have these people going round all over the country and they pay them,

so they cant be that hard up.

Quite agree, and have just had them call on me.

Hello I'm from the RSPCA, do you care about animal welfare.

I most certainly do very much so actually.

Right can I count on you to help our fund.

Sure, but first can you tell me what your doing to campaign against halal meat production? which I think is very cruel.

Well I'm afraid that's quite legal, and therefore we don't campaign against it.

Oh but when hunting was quite legal, you campaigned against that, very vigorously if I remember right, and does that mean if the hunting ban is overturned you will accept that as case closed ?

Slight pause, then she was joined by another fund raiser from across the road whom she had summoned,we had roughly the same conversation and after giving them some brief details of the extent and manner of halal slaughter in this country they left bewildered as to why they were not aware of the facts, and why they were not doing anything about it, but were instead focusing on an easier target of hunting which is far less cruel, resulting in a more humane death.

I then told them that if they could resolve that issue, I may think of making a contribution.

Do I think this will change anything ? No. Has this made me feel better then being rude to them ? Yes. Do I think if enough people took this stance it would help fieldsports ? Maybe.

They come round on the knocker regular here , employ canvassers who if you ask them anything look blank & shove the leaflet at you , why should anyone sign up to have money deducted from there bank accounts when the person trying to sell is clueless regarding what there trying to sell

they duped my parents into this last year & were bombarded with phone calls until they cancelled the direct debit , there not happy with folk sticking a few coppers in a box , you start to give to them regular & they start to pressure you into leaving them money after your death, that really made me angry as my parents are elderly & vulnerable

Kay you can get stickers to put on your parents front door saying ' No Callers Please ' and ask your parents to point this out to them if they still call, you can also get the phone calls to stop via the BT switchboard. PM me if you wish and I will forward details.

I have managed to sort out the cold calling to there home, it wasnt just the rspca, just calls generally trying to sell things, the sign is easily sorted , never gave a sign any thought to be honest
