Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
with that money you could probably find a good deal on a used hw97 77 95 or a tx200 with scope. and probably a lot of other top quality rifles. i dont know anything about the stingray im sure there decent guns but those i mentioned above are top quality Quote Link to post

ferret_uk 4
Cheers for the replies lads i have started a savings club with the local firearm dealer, Just put up what you think would be my best buy Cheers ferret_uk Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
If your pitting cash away at a dealer I personally would opt for a nice s410 , I shot one yesterday for first time in ages, and I forgot how good they are. You don't need to spend mega bucks on a scope to start off with either. The Hawke range are good, sport hd for about 50-60 quid, and then source a pump elsewhere, although pumps are handy, New their about 100-140 secondhand their about 50+.. but I picked up a s/h 7litre tank 300 bar with whip gauge etc for 100 quid , with 1.5yr test. So keep your eyes peeled lol Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
Fooking hell, the s410 has gone up in price since last time I looked lol scrap that idea get s200 an spend 50 quid on ten shot adaptor (if it matters) that will be about 400 quid. What will probably happen is you will buy something then upgrade later down the line, so just keep putting money away as and when. When looking for reviews never go on mags an published reviews, although some are good reviews..it seems that every product fits the bill, which just isn't the case. Ask or find people with the guns you like an try them or whatever. Quote Link to post

Buster321c 1,010
I had the Stingray ( Birmingham made ) in .22 . Its was an SFS tuned one and was easily a match for a HW , TX springer . Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,786
Hi bud if your not botherd about what you want ie ,springer or pcp then here,s the pros and cons mate ,pcp most are light to carry and deadly acurate with no recoil and with the right silencer wisper quiet but you will need eather a pump or dive bottle to fill her up some of the top pcp,s are aa,s410, rapid 7 aa,400 aa,510 and the top of the class hw,100 sport hw,100 kt and meny more . spring rifles, no need for filling pumps or bottles just pick your rifle up and go but spring rifles will recoil when you fire them so you must get used to shooting them before you shoot live vermin and most have some waight behind them some of the springer range are tx200, tx200hc,hw,77,hw97k ,hw97kt, hw80. hw90.gas ram.hw95 and meny others but if your new to rifles then i wud go for the pcp as there easyer to shoot then go to a shooting range and im sure some one will let you have a go of a springer so you can see if your going to like them as there not to every one,s taste atvbmac Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
If it is a Webley Stingray Mark 2 save yourself half the purchase price, buy a Hatsan 55s if you want a .177 or a 60s if you want a .22! With your £3-400 budget, fill the car up and spend a couple of hours driving to Wakefield. http://www.airrifleshop.co.uk/Guns/Weihrauch/WeihrauchMain.htm Look at the price of an HW95 carbine there. Much better than the Stingray or Hatsan (and I still own a Hatsan 60)! With your budget they will sort you out a rifle, scope and bag and probably lob some pellets and targets in as well. If you want a decent lunch out whilst in the area... http://www.featherstonehotel.com/ Pianoman can vouch for the quality of the catering too! Redbeck have an air rifle range so you can test your purchase and will make sure it is set up properly too! Quote Link to post

Hi Craig that is what Tony told me aswell. He said a older Birmingham Webley Vulcan (I know not a Stingray but all the same) tunes up as good as if not better than a HW. Si. Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Tony could tune a turd he's that good at what he does! 1 Quote Link to post
