English bull terrier? Id say a dog is probably the best deterent. I have a staff cross that makes a hell of a racket if anyone he doesnt know comes near the house.

I think these are a really good idea. Recently a group of kids let my ferrets out of their sheds/hutchs despite the fact that I have CCTV in the garden. I managed to get 5 back safe and sound but I had to put down a young jill after she had been attacked by next doors dog. I have never been keen on padlocking cages etc, but after this I will take whatever steps I can to prevent it happening again.

Why would you need to put an alarm on a ferret cage

Cause the dirty scum nick them... Couple of yr back i lost every ferret i had nets/finders/longnets the lot, Turned out it was only kids that burnt the lot and let the ferrets go when it was time too go in. So ya couple alarms wouldnt go a miss

Got hard wire alarm padlocks and a security light on my court a mate of mine who lives near me had all his team of good working ferrets nicked by pykies in one night it had taken him years to build up a good team of his own strain he was gutted so no theiving scumbag is going to nick mine it's unbeliveable what some low lifes will steal an alarm and locks is a small price to pay
