Millet 4,497
Got one of these on order i'll let you's know the outcome.. http://www.taclight....master-kit.html Have you compared your new purchase with the Lightforce yet......????? SINDASOX I have and i think the lightforce with a 100watt bulb has the edge on it for over all distance when the nightmaster 800 is set on it's tightest beam..i was lamping a tree around 280/300yrd's away..and i could quite easilly make the tree and branches out and also sheep and there eye's very easily.. at the tightest beam setting i would say these torches would be lethal on a 22lr or any of the centre fire rifles especially if the red LED was used.. As for getting bunnies with the dog i still think it will be pretty usfull..as the beam can be altered from spot to flood and when adjusted to around 80/100yrd's away you get a tight beam of around 10ft spread which is really white and bright..bearing in mind they is a full moon while i have been testing this nightmaster 800 so i won't really see it's full potential till the night's are dark again.. The Nightmaster 800 is small and and compact and i will take some size comparison picture's up in a bit...the other torch is a LED lenser P14.. Gaz_1989 9,539
Good review mate. Very useful! Do you mind me asking how much the nightmaster 800 cost? And Is it single mode operation? Some of them Cree lights are 5/7 mode as i recently found out! Cheers Gaz
JohnGalway 1,043
Millet, Did you use the NM800 with only one battery? As it's supposed to be better with two using the coloured and (I think) white LED's while the IR can only use one I think.

Cheers Gaz The torch cost 1p short of £160..it has 2 stages of lighting a 1- mode stage and a 3-mode stage..the 1- mode stage is accessed buy screwing the battery tube to the head of the lamp..doing that will give you full power everytime you push the switch.. If you want to use the 3-modes you just unscrew the battery tube from the head of the lamp and that will give you 3 setting's from high medium and low..
