A dig in the afternoon !!!!!!!
Born Hunter 17,784
Apparently flushed three on Saturdays syndicate day. Not generally good area for woodcock so a good early indication really. Big moon on Friday night I guess will have brought them in. Now the season has started! Now if later this season I can bag one over my young cocker I'll be made up!
neil cooney 10,416
Flushed a woodcock on the opening day and if my memory serves right I've never seen one on the 1st before. Didn't get a shot though.

neil cooney 10,416
Sunday morning getting across a barbed wire fence, gun empty, dog sitting and a brace of Woodcock got up behind me on their own terms and went left and right. Probably my first ever chance of a left and right. Hopefully not my last, LOL.

Flairball 141
I’m glad to see the woodcock are filtering through. I’m heading over tomorrow to do some shooting and I’d sure like to get a chance at woodcock. The flight came through here last month. Had a couple good days on them, and shot a few over my springer. Actually,....shot a few over my friends springer, too. Had one day where we easily flushed 50 but lunch time.

Flairball 141
Okay. Seeing the regularly, but not in great numbers in N. and E. Yorkshire. I still haven’t dropped the hammer on one, yet, but my friend managed one.
neil cooney 10,416
Still haven't tasted a Woodcock this year yet and last Saturday watched hounds drawing a covert and the Woodcock left it from every direction. Better have one this weekend.
