Born Hunter 17,775
Drawing to the end of yet another season on our Shoot on the Lincs/Leic border, for us it's deffinately been a bad year for them. Only put one up on a driven day and the only woodcock to be shot was on a walk up on earlier this month. One year I'll eventually manage to bag one!
Nik_B 3,790
I don't think the numbers seemed that bad on Anglesey from what I saw but North Wales is very good for Woodcock.
STRANGER 948
Seen 10+ in a couple of hours mooching about on Saturday, missed the lot Did manage to get a snipe, with my wee folding single barrel .410 was a peach of a shot if I do say so myself.
alimac 882
I was always led to believe that if its not hard enough weather, north east of us, we won't get the numbers flighting in on the moon. Iv seen less woodcock this year than ever before, I'd say down by or 90% :-(

No mate, when I was younger I had shots at a couple. Had a couple at one on Saturday. But tbh just never really had many opportunities. I really don't do that much game or fowl shooting, maybe 3-4 serious walk up days a year. I'll get one one day.... LOL Edited January 28, 2014 by Born Hunter

Seriously, last season up here 3 were shot in total between 10 driven days and 3 walk up days! And that is about the best tally I have seen in 8 years of shooting! This year 2 have been flushed and 1 shot between 9 driven days and 4 walk up days. LOL Don't be a twat, first time I'd seen a woodcock dropped with a 410! ......................................... b*****d!

greenshank1 407
Today was my 7th day out beating pheasants this season and there has only been a few woodcock seen in each of these days and has only ever been a couple shot each day. The weather ain't hard enough yet in the north to bring them in any numbers to Argyll . They are amazing to see the dog work them and flush them . I never call "woodcock "as they get up as I don't think it's sporting . I also think it leads guns to getting over excited and take unsafe shots.
