Carraghs Gem 1,675
Ive never seen a wolfhound run but imo a wolfhound defies the purpose of a lurcher to fill the pot in hard times where a wolfhould would most likely eat you out of house and home. 1 Quote Link to post

Dog for a job and as a breed it doesn't have one anymore not over here anyway I dont think theres hardly any original wolfhound blood in wolfhounds these days... I recollect reading an article by colonel david handcock that mentioned in passing that wolfhounds are a recreated breed using some deerhound and great dane blood Quote Link to post
bird 10,014
as been said they use them in Oz , but unless there differnt to the i/w in the rest of the world, lol they would be waste of time to use for a hunting dog. I reckon, what they use in Oz are (not) pure i/w and have deerhound in there make up, they prob more like stags that are in the USA . Quote Link to post

Ausnick 190
The real reason people had pure wolfhounds over here was for chasing kangaroos when it was legal, kangaroos aren't really agile at all so an agile dog isn't needed, but the stronger the dog the handier. Just going off what I've read... Quote Link to post
