Mr Whippy 1
Hey all, So I'm still having issues with my saluki/grey/collie. No problems catching the rabbits, but when she does she just plays with it instead of getting a good grip on it. She'll let it get up and run again, or if it plays dead she just loses interest. Done a load of work with a dummy wrapped in fresh skin, she's perfect with that, including retrieval. Any advice much appreciated Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
Has she had many..some dog's tend to play about from the begining but sharp learn to keep hold once they they have had to recatch a few..if she is 17mth old it might help to get her on some faster bunnie's to burn some of the energy of her that way she may stop playing about once she is tiring..and in turn make her keep a better grip.. Mr Whippy 1
She's had about 8 - 10 now. She seems a bit more aggressive on the quicker ones, but still plays with them. I can't help thinking she finds em a bit easy. On the odd occasion when we've bumped into a hare and she's been off lead and given chase she's been much more focused on them. Though she hasn't caught one, I'm sure if she had she wouldn't have let go Quote Link to post
