tomburras 2,730
Hi all I am looking for some advice as my 8 foot mk1 locator is only picking up my collars at 5 foot. Iv tried new batteries in them all but no improvement. Is there anything I can do or can theese be serviced? If theres a posibility of a DIY fix it would be great if I could save some money. many thanks in advance for any info. Quote Link to post

tomburras 2,730
Thank you all for your replies. I will have a look on youtube later and see if I can fix it myself. What would it cost roughly for it repairing? Thanks again Tom. Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,614
Take the front off,,, and inside where all the electronic circuit bord is,,, at the bottom, and at the top,, there are two round things coloured blue,,, both with white inside and a tiny slot,,, you will need a tiny screwdriver . The little white slots move like turning a screw, I can't tell you how far to turn them,, it's a case of trial and error,,, you can usually adjust the calibration with just he bottom one,,, but sometimes you need to feck around with the top one as well. Of course first thing is to put a batterie in the collar and put it on the floor, then stand on a chair or something so your about 8 foot up, then turn on the locator, and slowly start to adjust the little white slot/screw thingy with the screwdriver. Good luck,,, tell us how you get on Tomo 3 Quote Link to post

tomburras 2,730
Today i tried as tommo suggested and my locator is now picking up at 7 foot so its a big improvement. On my box the little white screws where hidden in the side of two narrow black boxes top and bottom, a baiting needle was perfect for them. I turned them both until I could hear a squelch like noise and then just turned them back slowly just until it stopped and then my locator picked up at 7 foot instead of 5 foot! Cheers tommo! saintsman54 15
Just used this explanation to fix both my boxes, great help. I think anyone could do this no need to spend money sending it to someone! Thanks Quote Link to post
