bit on the side?

Wish I knew someone who'd buy rabbits, know a few places where a person would be tripping over them

Asked in a pet shop one time but they wanted nearly as much certificates and paperwork as do my bloody sheep.

and of course, they'd have to be alive!

Snake food I think he meant.

Yup, herself brought me in there to get something or other for her dogs and I had a wander around. I nearly fell over passing the freezer, dead rabbits says I, what're they for :hmm: Then I saw the price of them, think it was about €11

I had a serious Only Fools and Horses moment, this time next year Rodders.................

HAHAHA exactly the same happened to me, rung all the rabbit supplier's in the country...................... 'No sorry, we already have someone who gets them for us'!!! :censored:

£1 a rabbit round here, when you can sell them. Not worth selling for me; worth more as meat in my freezer and to feed the family

I can get £1.50 gutted, picked up from your place, or £2.00 table ready.

Nice to know. Im just saying those are my prices im well aware of what others pay

we all know with current agricultural wages at a low what do people do to earn that little extra spending money?

i recently went into a pub in arundel west sussex they had a really nice coffee table made of new railway sleeper.. thought that would be easy to make and looks great.. maybe a cheeky little extra cash to be made here

In the same boat , working on a yard as a Groom/Handyman/Caretaker, I only work 35 hours a week at just above minimum wage, I do anything I can, I used to do turkey's and trees at Christmas, Firewood in the winter, Mole trapping which I was not very good at, making bird boxes, rabbit hutches, ferret boxes, the odd brace of rabbits or a brace of table-ready ducks at the local pub.

If you have the get up and go, and a money making head, then you will always find work, help's if you can do a few things, the next thing I want to learn is making purse nets, also would love to learn leather work

Well I was till today, I decided to quit, so looks like this thread will be coming in handy for me over the next few weeks!!!

Gamerooster i haven't raised any turkeys yet so can't give you a price. Hoping for a couple of quid profit in it anyway

In terms of chickens sold, between £15-£20 each, doesn't cost me that much in feed because i let them wander in the back field all day and they come in on a night for a tiny amount of layers  eggs are my own, using a borrowed incubator and brooder and jobs a good 'un. Neighbour came round last night, she'd seen a rat in her back garden and when she said that i thought "oh here we go she wants me to get rid of the chickens" but she was more bothered about a rat killing one of the poults  bloody Ginger (the cat) not doing his job :whistling:

Thats the problem, I have been doing work at weekends when I can, general gardening and maintenance jobs, using strimmers, chainsaws etc. at £8 an hour, but I very rarely get time to get here.

Its no so much the pay per hour, its the hours worked, sounds mad, but I am looking to work a 50-60 hour week, minimum wage no problem!!!
