loveferreting 2
hi guys i have just got a new ferret (jill) shes 20 weeks old is it too late to stop her bitingor do i just need to handle her thanks Quote Link to post
Brimmer 220
Its never too late for a ferret to stop biting, but at 20 weeks the snappiness should really have been handled out of her by now. Keep at it, still plenty of time yet, even the safest of ferrets can sink the teeth in by accident sometimes, and then it just becomes how tolerant you are to the odd bite, and can you work with it! I'd be just as interested in whether she will work ok in the coming months, its funny how folk will put up with and work with an animal that bites if it does the job! (me included.) staffyspen 43
Just keep handling!! Sure someone will come on and give you loads of tips but in the end it's all about how much you handle her!! Quote Link to post
coneycatcher4 20
handle her every day for a while and reward her when handling i find a bit of raw egg good when rewarding Quote Link to post

BazB 37
i got given a jill friday nite, i thought it was a kit at first coz its a small one, and she's a smart bitter. wont bite me knuckles but lunges over the top at the soft part of my wrist. she's not daft and nasty with it. im having her out in the next couple of days to see if she works Quote Link to post
