rabbit farming.

Recommended Posts

If I had the money id go into farming boer goats... With the amount of immigrants in the country you wont be short of customers for meat, get the skins cured as well as a sideline and any horns could be sold to stickmakers

thats the thing c.g.

with all the immigrants they could be a good market for the meat.

also any idea what to do with the rabbits skins as a by product.

A sheep farmer I know is farming more rabbits than sheep, I'm not quite sure he realises or appreciates the business oppertunity though

That would make sense if he's located well, near population centres. Plenty of markets, not high milage sparse populations areas. Big chains are a shower of c**ts, only ever interested in squeezing th

plenty to go at round here jg close to m1 motorway and most major citys / towns

Get someone to jazz them up a bit with a zip or some type of fastening and hawk them on Ebay as "out of service rampant rabbit pouches"

You'll make a fortune

(If you can find a rabbit with a f*****g skin big as a bin liner  )

I have often thought about doing this, they are ready to sell at 6 weeks old arent they? would be a lot of effort and time for this amount of rabbits though, plus a fair bit of expense to

You would need to establish an outlet to take them first IMO. I don't think it's as easy to walk into pets at home with a box full of bunnies and asking " you wanna buy em" ? I'm sure there will be teams of paper work to fill out. I bought fish the other day from there, and had to give them everything bar my NI number.

Even your everyday Pet-shop are weary of just taking any old rabbits, as if you bring a dodgy bunch in, and the have diseases, that's the whole lot of them gone, Most of the one's i rung up already had there own breeder.

A mate of mine does something similar, he travels to clitheroe fur and feather sale, and sells everything at the larger poultry sales, he makes a killing off it.
