finishing a stock

Recommended Posts

I think you might be describing a "Laminated" stock here Billmister.

This is a stock made from sections of different coloured woods which are fused, or laminated together, like a multi-layered 'sandwich', before being cut and finished to shape; giving a stock with a pleasing swirl of multicoloured grain.

A number of gunmakers offer laminated stocks with the colours you mention. But only for their own rifles. Weihrauch for example, do a particularly striking, multi-coloured version of their standard stocks for some of their rifles. ;)

Regards.
