Union leaders are they really that stupid ??

First off, I hope your wife is well on the way to recovery.

Secondly, we all write from experience and your experience of private health care is not one I share.

I think if you actually sat and crunched the numbers, you would find that the NHS costs us all vast amounts more than any private health insurance does, if they didn't charge the amount of tax the NHS costs we could all easily afford a plan of some sort.

There just like the bosses these days. Not a straw to draw between them. Only concerned on securing thier own position, and feathering thier nest.

Privatisation would stop all the drains on the resources, if you had to pay to see your doctor you wouldn't have half these fannies cluttering up the surgery for every minor sniff, ache, pain, bumped

The nhs was a marvellous idea, and has helped the British people for decades. Sadly beurocrats and mismanagement is slowly destroying it. The vast amounts of cash thrown at it, is gobbled up by idiots and greedy companies.

I would love to get a chance at sorting out that mess. First thing I would do is reinstate a sister on every ward. Bet most can remember the ward sister from years ago, who ran her ward like a battalion lol she was in charge of the ordering the lot.

I am no fan of all this " please help us" culture, I am more of the view " take off the handcuffs of tax and over regulation and let us help ourselves" ..........that would put the Great back into Great Britain IMHO

Just my own view

The unions destroyed coal mining in this country, by keeping the miners on strike for to long, trying to hold the power companies and ordinary folk to randsom, but the power companies went elsewhere and stayed there, so no jobs when they went back to work, the unions have never been on the side of the working man, only thier own side, and I notice that Arthur Scargill did'nt lose his house, or any weight during the two year strike, wonder why?

Wat a load of shit were you faced with redundancy and a goverment hell bent on destroying communities and jobs you keep reading the sun newspaper.

The unions were needed when formed, and in my opinion are still necessary today, however they got to powerful, and because of various hidden agendas promoted by some leaders who did not have their members interests at heart they lost their way and their creditability.

I feel the NHS which was a tremendous service has also lost it's way, due to mismanagement, although throwing money at it is not the complete answer, I also agree that this service should not be free to visitors of this country, I often wonder why they cannot operate their own lottery, and raise funds giving the public a choice as too where their gambling money goes, as opposed to having it put into so many inappropriate causes.

The Guardian whose editor and education correspondent who oppose private education, and then send their children to a private school, have no creditability with me, as this and many other of their views are made by hypocrites.

We did'nt have to wait for the goverment, the unions did it for them, we trusted them, but never again, ever.

I put my trust in those that earn it, and neither of the above are even ranked.

Let me start by saying I'm not brain washed into anything, I have been in the world long enough to know what's what and I believe what's in front of my eyes.

Lets start with your NHS comment, yes I think it should be privatised, the standards would be better no doubt about it.

If you have ever had private treatment which I am sure you have, then you will know that it is a country mile above what your getting served up in the local hospitals........they won't stand for second best from ANY staff in a place like the Harley street clinic and that's the way it should be in all hospitals IMHO, your either a professional or your not, there should not and can not be any in between when your dealing with people's lives.

There are some brilliant people working in our NHS who I am sure would want a less shoddy service with less managers, more folk who care about the job they are doing and the standard they are doing it too.

The docks died because the unions made it too expensive to land cargo, end of story.....it was cheaper to go to Rotterdam and drive it across!

They are demanding money in the public sector that their members don't create and isn't there to give them anyway......no, they are happy to put all of us in the real economy that actually create some money in debt upto our eyeballs as long as their members don't suffer......sorry mate, I don't f*****g think so.

As for the communist connections, that's well documented and you know it.....from the strikes at Langley to Scargill to Bob Crowe....all dirty reds to a man

As for your Tax the rich link, it is absolutely disgusting that because a bloke has done well for himself people think they can rock up and steal his money to pay for some other f****r.......what the f**k gives you the right to help yourself to other people's money......give me one good reason why a multi millionaire should pay a percentage point more in tax than a floor cleaner ? They both work, they both earn money, so why?

Privatise the NHS, well bits have already been privatised and look what has happend, so much for standards improving. What about the folk who can't afford to go private?...maybe you would prefer a system like the USA where if you can't pay you don't get treatment. What is disgusting is that someone with a 20 room mansion can pay the same in council tax as someone is in a 2-3 bedroomed council flat. Or Multi millionaires who don't pay tax at all. If your all for equality why is some dickhead of a politician or banker allowed to earn more than a soldier, nurse or fireman for that matter?

You ask what gives someone the right to help themselves to other folks money....well sucessive governments have been doing that for years and it's the ordinary working man who bears the brunt of it while the rich get richer. Ironic don't you think that the regeneration of the docklands only benefitted the wealthy while whole communities were destroyed :whistling:

Unions didn't always get it right but workers have a far better standard of living than they would have done if they didn't exist. As for Scargil, love him or hate him he was proved right in the end.

Look at London docklands in the late 70s and early 80s if you really want to see the power of a union......derelict buildings and empty docks on what was one of the greatest and busiest rivers in the world

Absolute shit c**ts !

I thought the London docks died off due to the emergence of containers, improved road transport links outside the capital and the emergence of coastal deep water ports like Dover.. Why would you transport your cargo up the Thames then out of the rats nest that is central London by road when you could dump it off at Dover or one of the other, more convinent ports along the coast?

Council Tax is pays for the local council collecting rubbish, police, road maintenance, leisure centre's, etc etc, why should such a tax be dependant on the size of house ? anyone who has bought such a property has already paid heavy tax on buying it, one person in mansion does not cost the council any more to service them. Why should an elderly lady for example living in a four bed house because all her family has died pay more then four people living in a two bed house ?
