TOMO it wouldnt surprise me if there was maybe the ODD 1 or 2 about. But the majority dont imo.

Your back peddling

Lol nah mate not at all. Like ive said ive never got a doe in beetween november and january that has shown visible sighns of dropping. And these months are probably the time when most are caught as the covers at its lowest.

Has anyone on here got any experiance with CWD ? One deer id really like to run.

quite the opporsite late spring early summer daytimes was good back in the day. as the cover dies off they retreat back into denser cover not venturing so far out from thick woodland remember they use cover as a roadway to get from one place or another within there territory.

Ive never really experianced that mate as there arnt very many big woods its mostly little spinneys. I used to get a fair few that were travelling along empty ditches wich are normally full of cover. But i agree with what your saying about them using cover to there advantage.

I know people that take fallow, reds and sambar. Their dogs rarely go for the neck so once the deer gets tripped it's not uncommon for the deer to get back up and drag the dogs. But from what I've experienced with my dogs, that always go for the neck on cats and anything bigger, once it's on the ground it's usually accounted for. Had fallow does and red hinds straightline my dogs through shitty ground, they're a good test for the dogs IMO
