moonlighter 1,164
How do you mean it gets stuck?? Or do you mean it won't come back? Quote Link to post
terryd 8,709
My little bedlington whippet used too do that but it would often put rabbits in the bag. When a rabbit hits a hedge and it is off course the dog would often nab it. But then I know what you mean you don't really want a dog storming a hundred yards through a hedge on mission impossible making a racket when there is lamping too be done. Swings and round abouts I guess Edited October 20, 2012 by terryd 2 Quote Link to post
stokefan 7
How do you mean it gets stuck?? Or do you mean it won't come back? yh she gets stuck inside the hedge if its big enough, the thing is the rabbit has long gone but shes still looking for it, i want to try and nip this in the bag asap, i appreciate that alot of rabbits can be caught just inside the hedge but shes trying to search for it for some time later or will she grow out of this as she gets the hang of it? Mick C. 229
Easier said than done You need loads of kills on the lamp That way the penny should drop Dont slip on anything your not sure of catching Sould take the keeness out of her if you can tire the dog as well 2 Quote Link to post
stripes 401
As above your bitch is just keen to work and catch,,and many a rabbit has been caught just hiding in the confines of the hedge cover..it would be worse if she just gave up and couldnt be bothered. Quote Link to post

Ok that's great so you think eventually the penny will drop when she learns the tricks of the trade abit more? Many thanks Quote Link to post
alex.s 19
do you keep the lamp on when she is in the hedge if so try switching off mate as she associtates the lamp with rabbits so she will think its still in there Quote Link to post
