fjer20 0
I am looking to have a variation to my FAC to include a .270. I have had my certificate for a .22lr for 2 years and have fired a good few rounds through it. My dad has a .270 in his cabinet that he is happy to sign over to me. I have been on a number of accompanied deer stalks for both red and roe deer in Scotland, and now have written permission for roe stalking on a Scottish estate. My concern is that i'm going from a .22lr to a .270, having only held my FAC for 2 years. I am keen to have the .270 calibre so i can use it for red deer once a year, and for the roe, and i wouldn't have to fork out for a new rifle. Has anyone had success with this step in variation before? My local police force are North Wales. Any advice on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
Can't see why you wont get a grant for 270. You have good reason for it. And the land. So can't see how they can't stop you. Try not to be palmed off with mentoring if they mention it. Good luck. Atb jay Quote Link to post
TWOTWOTHREE 152
Should be no issues it's a valid reason and you have had experience, people get rimmy and cf on first apps without problems, just go for it,even if you get a mentoring condition which is possible but not mandatory put the rifle on your ticket aswell as your dads and you allready have a got yourself a mentor, Atb Quote Link to post
