just a quik one

I am not an expert on hunting but i do it and enjoy it and my dogs good enough. im not hardcore out every night but just need some advice.

 

how does everyone feed your rabbits to your dogs, ive heard loads say dont loads say do, an pple say raw an pple saw boiled. an pple say not the heads etc. is there anythn that you should or should not do to avoid any troubles for the dogs? :unsure:

I feed em with the guts in

 

So you dont bother gutting your rabbits in the field ? Its ok carrying them with guts still in if youve only got 1 or 2 but when you start catching a few it all helps bring the wieght down and preserve the qaulity of the meat.

 

The only trouble with feeding rabbit with fur on is when the dog is left in the boot with a few and he eats them. Me and another member off this site were out a couple of weeks ago and we left some bunnys in the car with a lurcher pup. By the time we came back she mustve eaten her wieght in rabbit !!!

nope dont gut them in the field as a good night on the rabbits for me is 6 rabbits :laugh: i dont take many as i lamp on foot , and walk to all my permissions :thumbs:

Fair enough mate each to there own. Just out of interest what crosses are you running and what age do you feed them whole rabbit from ?

collie/bull/grey

and a lurcher x lurcher (beddy/whippet/wheaten/grey x bull/grey)

both had whole rabbits from a year old
