Taming a bull x terrier

Recommended Posts

my first dog was a staff never quit from she woke up til she fell asleep never aggresive to other dogs but the energy was unreal, she was knocked down at one year old so i didnt have alot of experience at the time but that wee pup was walked 2-3 times a day, cycled and swam with couple times each week and had the ball thrown for her for 20mins at least once a day on a walk, plus there was alaways a bone for too chew when at home, i was told and then learnt there not for the faint hearted but i wouldnt be without one now

Try n borrow electric collar everytime he shows aggresion give him a zap he'll get the message it worked for a pal with his bull cross ,not a fan of these collars but there better than hitting the dog n making him nervous .

Some of ye just dont get it do ye,HIS BREED WAS BRED TO FIGHT why zap him or beat him he knows no better its his nature.Do you zap a gun dog for retrieving,do you zap a guard dog for protecting,THE FIGHT IS IN HIM.If people cannot hack a fighting breed,do not f*****g get one.

Hi all, i have a staffy(well i brott him as that) but now he has become a beast, he has got to be crossed with some sort ov bull! His a dog 14montjs old, i have a working fell terrier bout 6yrs old but shes never been worked only kep as a pet, iv had the staff from a pup and has been ok eith my terrier and friends staff, my mate(with the staff) then got a lurcher pup, we took them out for a walk and my staff went for the pup, even tho just [bANNED TEXT] i met up with my mate i had walked past another dog and he didnt even look at it, i havnt tried him with the pup again yet, just wanted to no how i could calm him with other dogs, i was gunna have him neutered? Also do you think dog training would help?

With all due respect a working terrier that has never been worked is not a working terrier. Dogs that were bred to work that are denied the opportunity will often show you why they are a poor choice for a pet.

Your dog is young.... but already too old to be telling you what it is going to do. An experienced person could likely correct the behavior. But at the end of the day it's not the dogs behavior at the root of the problem.... it's your own.

Very true that you can keep them with other dogs for years and in the blink of an eye one day carnage if you don't understand pits or staffs there temperment what makes them tick dont dream of getting one except them for what they are or stay well clear
