trenchfoot 4,243
I'm in the process of looking to rebuild a kennel block in a small barn. Its in an exposed site and gets ruddy cold over winter. I'm after ideas for heating the bedding boxes. There will be at least 16 boxes, so running cost is a serious issue. No gas on site so it would have to be electric powered. I've looked at aluminium heat pads that I can fit in the base of each box, but am not sure as to how effective they would be? Any suggestions welcome!

beast 1,884
once it gets going really hot i load mine with the biggest log i can fit into it then shut the air intake to very low, and this will go at least eight hours. guess different burners work a bit differently? charlie nelly1 142
our kennel is wooden, all boarded with 9mm ply, then a layer of that insulation about 2 inch thick comes in sheeets then ply wood again over the top, will last years and once in it cost nothing, letting them out in the morning the kennel is allways toasty warm you can feel the heat when you open the door, also cool in summer
