ive seen a whippet take fox on a regular basis, using a similar method to a good deer dog..........said whippet used to jump on the foxes back, get a throat hold and then force the fox to the ground, 9 times out of ten breaking the foxes neck and spine............

I used to know a farm worker some years ago who used whippets for foxes. Like anything depends on the dogs nature.
