Absolutely Gutted

Recommended Posts

Opened the back door this morning around 6am to find 2 ferrets running around the garden, after a quick chase i put them in the cage, only to find my oldest hob had vanished. Fecking gutted, only had him a few weeks and he was doing well on the few occasions we had been out. Have left another hutch open with food in it, in the hope he will come back, but think its the last time ive seen him, as our house is side on too 4 farmers fields and a big beck running alongside. Feel guilty and gutted at the same time and im stuck at work thinking about it has happened.

I haven't give up yet mate. Going to ring around the vets/pet shops etc in the area and leave a number in case anyone does find him. I'm an optimistic person and although their is alot of fields/woodland near me, there isnt a vast amount of food, so hopefully he will either come back or go to somebody elses house. Fingers crossed as he seemed to have alot of potential and seemed very willing once into the swing of things.

they don't usually wander far to be honest bud, get out there and keep looking!

my two got out once, one was just fannying around in the front garden and the other was a sleep in the neighbours washing basket.

any of your mates or anyone nearby off here got any cage traps? worth asking?

Just been out with the lamp to see if i could see anything, nothing happening. Just hope that with the weather we are having up here raining, wet, cold etc that he is just tucked up somewhere and if he does move then i'm hoping somebody will spot him. The only real concern i have, is that were he got out of the garden, if he went left he is into a hedge line and then fields that are frequented by foxes and dog walkers, so lets hope he went the opposite way.

Update...........Stuck an ad in the paper and didn't expect much tbh, but received a phone call around 3pm today, they said the ferret was in their garden on Monday night and tried to get at the 2 rabbits in the cage. They said they hadn't seen him since but where keeping an eye out for him. Then around 8.30pm tonight i received another call, a women had been into the local shop and mentioned to the assistant that she had found a ferret in her garden and had taken it in to a local vets. This assistant had then seen the ad in the paper and had gotten in touch with us, but the women never mentioned what vets. So going to phone around all the vets tomorrow and Monday and see if they have taken him in, so hopefully we will get him back and will be none the worse for his expedition lol.

Cheers Stretch
