I'm gonna start this week after work digging the trench etc. It's gonna be a few weeks process due to free time (a lack of it) and funding (a lack of it) but if I don't start it now then I never will and ive always wanted a good kennel set up with drainage. Just been out and measured up and planned my route for pipe work etc. I'm having a 5 metre x 3 metre concrete base. On this will be 3 runs out of galv panels. 1 for the terrier 3m x 1m and then 2 for the lurchers 3m x 2m. What I need to know is where to put the grids in the runs? Where the water goes down? 1 in the corner of the base for all pens? 1 in each pen? One channel along the front? Has anyone got photos of how they have done it? Thanks. Gaz. To apply for a reduction, please call our 24-hour automated leaflet request line on 0845 303 7711 and ask for a copy of our ‘Surface water drainage for household customers’ factsheet. Alternatively visit our website unitedutilities.com/surfacewater for full details. New connections to our sewer system All domestic customers are entitled to connect their drains to our sewer system. Written approval from us is required before any new connection to a sewer is made. We need 21 calendar days notice. We reserve the right to make the connection to our sewer, and ask you to pay the costs. We will give notice of our intention to make the connection within 14 days of receiving your completed application. We aim to start work on the connection within 21 working days of the last approval necessary for the works to be in place and 60 days to implement. In this case, Ofwat has powers to consider disputes about the costs. If we decide to allow you or your contractor to do the work, it must be done under our supervision and at your cost. You must give us at least one working day’s notice to arrange the supervision. We can in certain circumstances refuse permission for new connections to our sewers. Ignore if you want but if you or the dogs piss containates the a rainwater sewage system they will trace it to your unlawful work and if you own your house face the risk of legal action and you may loss what you have worked so hard for. Appeals about the entitlement to Sensible advice And before anyone connects to the drains, they should make sure it's a 'foul water' drain that runs to a sewage treatment plant, and not a 'surface water' drain which will empty straight into a river or stream. the pikey poacher 1,157 Posted October 16, 2012 Report Share Posted October 16, 2012 just put a gully along the front of your runs i dug out dirt put some compo in put house guttering into it hamered it down with rubber hammer slight fall to my soak away which is a stollon green wheelie bin dug into the ground cut a 6 inch square in lid where pipe goes to and put 2 bags of gravelin the bottom ow did drill about 400 holes in the bin on all 4 sides and the bottom had no truble with it and no smell comes back out of it it just smells like jayes fluid easy and cheap mate send me your phone number and ill send you pics never gets more than a 1/4 full of water and i got 5 runs in a row 12ft x 4ft each hope this helps Quote Link to post Share on other sites
