earlystart 56
Went out rough shooting today. Had a good mix bag but shot this bird out of the sky, it was moving very fast in the wind. When the dog retrieved it I noticed this, does anyone know what it is? There was a hole and you could see right into its breast. Apart from this the bird looked normal. Quote Link to post

filzee 0
Thats really strange because about a month ago i was decoying and had the same thing. The bird came to my left i fired, thought i'd missed when it came round the back of me and just fell out the sky. I didn't eat that one. Quote Link to post

3175darren 1,100
Never seen that one,I thought at first it looked like an old poorley healed wound,it was certainly better of dead I ithink, I would have been tempted to put some gloves on and dissect that a bit, I once shot a Pheasant years ago and as the dog got closer I could stink it,it had been shot in chest, probably off the roost with the old 410 and survived it,well that was the popular opinion at the time, and it was in a state, but not swollen up as bad as that,Its a strange one, it will be interesting to see what people say about it,someone on here will be able to shed some light,on it Quote Link to post
