just have a call from a mate saying the whiting and cod are back in the mersey might have ago this week on one of the night tides i really like whiting nice eating fish what do you lads think of a little compitition just for fun biggest whiting this winter say closing date around febuary all pictures of your catch must have the hunting life comp writen on a card john

They are catching whiting well all along the Thames at the moment, bass as well.

had plenty of cod and whiting from the mersey over the years my biggest was 5lb but seen 10lb being landed by other fishermen from jaguar house the doggies will be out in numbers along this stretch and plenty of dabs

you will be able to hire a rod and reel on the boat and the lads will make sure your set up properly so no need to worry

fished the mersey yesterday at otterspool fished two hours before high tide think its still to warm i had a few whiting only small caught on blowlug which my kids enjoyed digging and two dogfish were caught on sandeel only fished a few hours think ill wait until its abit colder john

Is it only shore whiting? Think the east coast will win that hands down, Horsea is seeing whiting in the mid 40;s already!
