gnash haye had ability in abundance and as you say fit as a butchers but there was his problem hes to small to take on the big heaveys , clitchco embarrased him and he did not like it , time will tell on the price fury sarga

I dont think Klitchko embarrassed him i think he embarrassed himself first with his performance of not having the will and desire to take a risk and secondly his girlie excuses after......we know he wasnt big enough in todays heavyweight era but like Holyfield,Spinks and plenty of others who could of stayed cruiserweight champion forever, you have to fight a heavyweight and bar the very highest level Haye performed well........the heavyweight division go,s with society sizewise people are getting bigger simple.... you had the 13 stone small hard heavyweights of the Marciano/Walcott/Moore era in the 50,s,the 15 stone rangey heavyweights of the Ali/Foreman/Norton era in the 70,s.......the 17 stone blubber era of the Witherspoon/Tubbs/Page era in the 80,s.......and onto Lewis in the 90,s and todays gigantic era where anybody under 6 ft 6 is considered small.................it leaves no room for fighters like Haye ive said for years there should be a super heavyweight division at maybe 225 lb.......when you think some of the great heavyweights through history like Ali,Marciano,Louis etc would probably not make it today due to size tells you something must be wrong.

I,ll be amazed if this fights gets to the 4th round......ive never been a fan of amateur boxing and Harrison is a perfect example why......i dont care if he,s an old Repton boy or not you reach the pi

harrison===i hope they take the knuts licence away so he never steps into a boxing ring again his whole careers been a sham .. wanker gets another hand out

I've never been able to understand why only giants get to play basketball.

Why not have height divisions so the non giants can play?

Or, bring down the height of the basket?

Gnash is right, heavyweight boxing has become more of a freak show as the years have gone by.

The Klitchkos seem to have one robotic tactic:--keeping their head well back, protected at all times by their massive jabs. They never take a risk and simply wait until their opponent is knackered before opening up.

.It's boring and it's killing the sport in the heavyweight division.

Bezza a well respected trainer said to me a few years ago......as fighters the Kiltchkos as middleweights or welterweights would not of made it as professional boxers let alone won world titles......i totally agree.........for me David Haye has more boxing ability in his little toe :D than the Klitchkos and probably Price/Fury etc have in their entire body.

No other weight division can size have so much influence over success and its no coincidence that with that huge size competetive excitement has been lost and replaced by a chess match of physical movement.

Didnt think of that with Basketball....makes sense i suppose, probably many other sports as well

Again gnash ill agree with some of your points holyfield was class. He also had mastered his training , diet regime to keep his body mass while staying fit. ,he allso could fight , the size issue i agree but comparisons with heavy and middle wights well yes and no if ifs and buts and all that shite , they are what they are , and as for drawing skill comparisons with price and haye think we will see price will match hay in that department as time progresses , The lad you mentioned to look out for boxed on a liverpool bill am getting a copy of the dvd and will watch am i right he is an ex kick boxer

Just another reason why I'm a massive UFC fan! No bum fighters in this organisation and no fighter dodging each other either, like mayweather and PAC man. Come on lads, subscribe to ESPN and change to the dark side! You know you want too! Lol

Yes he was a kickboxer/mma .....beat Joshua in the ams if im not wrong......ask your man Price they have sparred a lot i know Dillian went up there to get him ready for the Mcdermott fight they,ve sparred a number of times.

The comparisons were on boxing ability alone.......Ali would of been world champion at flyweight or heavyweight his skills were that good............the ONLY weight Klitchkos would of been champion at is heavyweight......and thats the comparison.

Maybe in time Price will become a more complete fighter who knows but from what we have seen so far he hasnt needed a lot of boxing ability.......again,same as Klitchkos.......dont get me wrong im not knocking Price its just the way the division is now.

Hollyfield was a different beast in his day than haye could ever be a class above him end of I tink evender wud have had the skills to beat the klitchcoes in his day haye wud not have lasted 8 rounds wit hollyfield in his day

Holyfield was a good cruiser but he was at his absolute best as a light heavy he could of held that title forever.......i believe the days of light heavyweights winning heavyweight titles are long gone......can you imagine Nathan Cleverly moving up to challenge a Klitchko or Price !!.........yet Holyfield and Spinks both moved up comfortably to challenge the likes of Holmes and Tyson at virtually the same weight. The heavyweight division was always the most exciting and prestigious division in the sport, now its possibly the worst.

Yes i had half decent career hung the gumshield up a while ago now....never lost the love for the game and still keep a foot in the door,so to speak

Fair play to you it's a great sport take huge commitment and dedication to get places the training is savage I don't tink people realise just how tough it can be I agree completly with you that Tyson and spinks were no we're near the freakish size you get now in boxing there huge there is no great heavyweight now you can look at and say is a great stylish boxer they all look so slow sluggish and flat footed you look at Ali Holmes even Lennox was a very nice boxer I just find them now days to be lacking something atb

Gnash whether you like it or not the main source of pro boxers is the ABA route and the heavy division has never been over run with talent the problem is heavy wights tend to be of the older lads very few make the wieght at early teens so not many stay as compatition is limited with a few dozen throught the the country sparing is allso limited at this weight with the lack of heavys around the lads tend to spar lower wights were they never get the chance to lets say unload , this lack of good sparing inhibits the progresion of boxers as does the competion boxers meeting at club level then at aba comps etc time and time again , only on serlection to squads do the get to spar with more experienced boxers the internationals opening up even more oppotunity , all are heavys over the last few decades have come thru the ABA system and have been late twentys turning pro its not the ams fault its just the lack of interest at this weight , lewes went to canada , to relise his potetial we produce at all other weights , and will allways struggle at the higher end we may see an inrease in the next few years on the back of the olyimpic success , again time will tell , and its like buses two or three arrive at once but like the buses some dont make the trip

We,ve probably had this conversation before....but i maintain, amateur boxing is of little or no use to heavyweights whatsoever......yes of course they will come through the amateurs as nobody starts at the top but unlike any other division the sooner a young talented natural heavyweight turns pro the better......the majority of heavyweights are reliant on power to a large degree.....whereas power in the amateurs means very little.....its nothing to do with age heavyweights mature much later than lower weights 31/32 is prime for a heavyweight where its virtually the end for lower weights.

You only really need look at Audley Harrison as the perfect example of how and why amateur boxing is no true indicator of potential the man was the best amateur in the world yet a joke at world level as a pro !!..........The heavyweight division as a whole is limited by extremes not just in Britain but worldwide theres plenty of good young fighters out there who qualify for the division by WEIGHT............but by SIZE they cant compete at the highest level...............like ive said there must come a time when a new division is introduced the sport cant stop evolution so must move with it to keep fights competetively interesting you look at other fight sports like k1 and kickboxing they have super heavy divisions 220 lb and over boxing will have to do the same at some stage
