i have a greyhound bitch just turned 12 month old just started her on rabbits just staring 2 pick up just wondering if anybody else got any working greyhounds and how there getting on get some pics on here later

If you go in the greyhound section there was a bit in there about working greyhounds think a lot off people will be interested how your bitch is starting as they were discussing if a greyhound treated like a lurcher from a pup will work

One working bitch is 4 and the others 6, use them for lamping and daytime with the ferrets and terriers, I also take them picking up when I'm shooting

yh thats all i got my bitch 4 is lamping and ferreting just getting throw the stage of getting her to get the nack of picking up but apart from that i have started well with her ill get some pics on here tommorow have u got any pics of yours mate

The farther in law only ever worked greys and whippets he has one now that would take everything not big numbers but was game as out, he could take rabbits better than the whippets. The dog is now in the campo region of Spain still knocking over fox and the odd rabbit at 9 years old I've some pic of him some where with his catches I'll try and up load. Atb John

yh be nice to see the pics mate thats all m dad used to run was greyhound this is my first one had other lurchers but just fort i would try a pure bred see how it works out

Should of said when you see a. Good grey work it mint and mental, everything happens at a hundred miles an hour. There's no running up behind them and winding them down its in strike, in strike. If they miss at least the course was good, but I'm not a numbers man I just enjoy a dog working. John

We have had some fun with that dog, he got it as a rescue feed it up and got it used to a new name, we walked the dogs down the canal and went for a pint. He said let's go in the field which was pend in and let him off for a run. We jump the fence and let him off the lead and he didn't move I let mine go and still didn't move so I put mine back on the lead next minute he was off , we tried calling him and nothing we started getting pissed off until we saw the hare he was after he coursed it and nailed it and brought it back to her dad( this was after 2 weeks of knowing him) and his words where" that's the best £60 I've ever spent" he's never looked back . Like I said he wasn't a big numbers dog but he would catch most game and give you a memory that would stick.

what better can u ask for the other reason i went for a greyhound is round by me theres not very big fields so u got have a dog thats got speed so [bANNED TEXT] then i fort then a greyhound took my bitch this morronig and took her first big ears she was with a nother dog but she had it so im over the moon with her

Never thought theyed be any good tbh but have been proven wrong by storys.but id be careful wit hunting one in a small field as they are very fast animals and mytnt be able to stop in time
