Runningdogs3 59
Pups weaned and I have been gradually building up my bitches exercise on lead. Having worked up to between 5 and 8 miles a day, mostly walking and a bit of jogging, her mustle tone has improved and her teats shrunk back up to a reasonable size. It was time for a run. Wish I could have got some better pictures as the pure joy on her face when I took her onto the field and let her go was unbelievable. Had to keep calling her back and sitting with her for a minute before letting her go again so as not to overdo it. Didn't realise how much I had missed watch that dog run! With a bit of patience I reckon she will soon be back in condition. Quote Link to post

Runningdogs3 59
Never stopped walking mine either. But she was huge the last week before whelping and it was only a couple of gentle strolls a day. 2 days after whelping I had her back out walking again and worked her up gradually. It's amazing how fast they lose condition though and I want to make sure she is in good shape before she works. Didn't fancy her running though when her teats were round her knees! Quote Link to post

Peter Leemooch 160
I regret ever breeding my bitch she was never the same after she wanted to work as much as ever I could just never get her tip top like she was before her litter no matter how I tried I think some bitches are just not phisically cut out for breeding 2 Quote Link to post
