Hi guys,

Is it good for the dogs feet/nails to give it plenty of exercise on the roads or paths, I been doing a few miles on the bike every other night with her, plus when is the best time to feed her the days I exercise her, way before or just after a run

He means run her behind the bike as opposed to free running or walking mate.

 

I was always led to believe that its good for keeping their nails short, and tightening their feet etc up.

 

And would feed after i get back.

Yes I know this mate but I only run her behind the bike every other day, the days I'm not running her is when we are walking and out hunting, but thanks for stating the obvious and jacking my thread,,,,

5 mile of roadwork twice a week and the other days spent free running in fields for an hour or so shud suffice

i'd feed the dog some food in the morning before work then after exercise in the evening.

 

give the dog time to cool down first

 

if i take the my dogs for a jog i give them a few eggs after too.

 

must be hard work on a bike up your way not much flat ground there.

Bloody hell theres a fair few who run there dogs behind the bike on here. I used to do it aswell as running them beside the motor but tbh never really found much difference with the exception of hare dogs). Aslong as they get plenty of excersise on varying ground plenty of rest and good qaulity food there should be no problem.atb

I used to run my dogs behind the motor in ireland down a bog road when fit had them running 20miles 2to3 times aweek.but that was preban hunting i had them fit for.now just walk dem a couple of miles a day

No dog needs 20 miles all a good coursing dog need is 5-8 tops and if your working them properly that will be plenty
