what do you feed?

Recommended Posts

i feed dry in the summer mate( keeps the flies down)

then on to meat in the winter. anything really they seem to love most things.

ice cream is a strange one they seem like

Yes i know a lot of people do that feed dry in the summer and i understand why because the flies can be a pain in the arse,i just put a portion i think they will be able to eat and i feed it at night when it gets cooler.I just check in the morning if theres any remains left and clear it out. ATB

i keep my ferrets near to one of my kitchen windows. the mrs gets on my back a bit it if theres any flies about. even if i did as you suggested there would still be the smell of meat to attract them......................... plus i'm bit to lazy to clean out the ferrets every day too

Mine get mainly carcasses, with some dry (usually vitalin) in the summer, if the flies are bad.

My lot can destroy two rabbits in a day.

I feed birds if i want to bulk weight up.

ye i noticed feeding birds builds them up

Rabbits have very little fat, birds have lots.

All my ferrets get a constant supply of dry food (mix of lots of brands) and 1 potion of meat in the summer and 2 portions of meat in the winter. I give them a mix of whole carcasses (rabbits, pigeons, partridge, pheasant - why do they always eat the heads first!?) plus cheaps cuts and scraps from the butchers (chicken joints, chicken liver, lamb ribs, beef mince etc). I also give egg yolks, oil and fish as treats.
