Even if people haven't got the time to work a dog as much as they'd like to, I truly believe the dog is better off staying where it is loved and wanted rather than taking the risk of rehoming it to so

Heres a pic of my bitch Ruby who ive just got back last week,   Im over the moon to be honest, You dont know what youve got till its gone.

Aye, as soon as she had gone I weighed up the good and bad points, and guess what, not many bad points, although an inch or 2 bigger would of been ideal. She is a canny little mooching dog and cover

I originally got rid of her as family illness and problems/commitments which are ongoing meant that I was needed 24 hours a day.

Ive now managed to work round all of this and make more time for myself, as been a carer for family i need space myself.

Even if people haven't got the time to work a dog as much as they'd like to, I truly believe the dog is better off staying where it is loved and wanted rather than taking the risk of rehoming it to someone else. Some dogs can change hands without batting an eyelid, but many lurchers/sighthounds are much more one man/one family dogs and they really suffer when they're not with their original owner, providing of course that that owner treated them right.

I stopped rehoming dogs a few years ago after being hoodwinked/lied to etc. I can't help the dogs that ended up in a bad situation, I just have to live with the knowledge that I let a dog down badly, but I'll never do it again. Better off dead than being neglected/mistreated somewhere. Dead is at peace, and God knows there's little peace in this life for a lot of people or animals.

Sorry to sound morbid, but it's the way I feel now, and I'm so glad you got your dog back OK: I'm damn sure that she's happier with you even if she doesn't get all the work you dreamed of for her.

I have had a load of family problems/commitments, and couldnt see a way to work her and it wasnt fair on her, and she needed to run.

Now someone round the corner wanted a dog, so I sold her, I didnt want her passed about, thats why I asked a small fee.

Now the woman who took her was willing to let me take her son out and work the dog When i had time.

Anyway, long story short the woman ended up owing me more money, so I explained that I wasnt waiting anymore, as I had already waited for 2 months and have a family to support.

So we came to an agreement and I now have Ruby back.

she is approx. 21-22 tts.

By the way, she also got some beautiful porcelain dolls off my Lass for a very good price, which ended up us been owed all the money, plus what we lent to help her out.

So you have a fair idea that it wasnt just the small fee for Ruby, it was a lot more.

So you got rid of the dog 2/3 months ago due to these commitments but you started looking for a beddy/grey x wheaten/grey just after getting rid. :hmm:

I started to ask about for another dog as circumstances changed and I have managed to work round my Personal Problems.

The dog was re homed to what I beleived to be a good home at the time. I didnt want to unsettle her anymore than was neccessary.

Time went by and in the end the bitch was loosing weight, money was owed both for the dog and the dolls etc, so I took the dog back and sorted everything out once and for all.

Now the dog managed to get over a 7 foot fence to come back to my house a number of times, I think that shows how well I look after my dogs, and the dogs know it.

Its a good ending for me and Ruby.

I understand your concern johnny boy68.

Cheers mate, the first time she did it the woman came running behind her, so I calmly gave her the benefit of the doubt.

The other times its was neighbours and friends who saw her at mine.

She was even seeen wandering the streets at haf 10 at night.
