Canadian geese

Recommended Posts

Went to see a farm yesterday, been going there for years but he has more ground I didn't know about so he told me to pop over and he would take me around to show me the boundary. While I was driving throw a stubble field there were loads of geese feeding off the stubble. I asked if I could have a go and he said it was fine. I never had nothing to do with geese so any advise would be great! Thanks.

As said before watch your geese see what time they are arriving at, what direction they are coming in from and where abouts on the field they are feeding. Try to get your hands on some decoys and a call, get there before them and wait it out. You will need a decent hide because they have eagle eyes! If you're unfamiliar with decoying be sure to give the geese plenty of room downwind to work the decoys as they have to face into the wind to land. As les said swing well through, head and neck is where you want to shoot them but if you get them that close you'll work the rest out. Just getting up from the table after eating 1, anyone that says you can't eat canada geese can't cook!!! Atb Mark (let us know how you get on)
