Waz 4,266
I got bar runs and weldmesh. If I ever need to buy more panels it will be mesh. Ive only ever had 1 climber (since she was 4 months old!) so she is in the barred pen, I use to have weldmesh ceiling, no problem to do that again. If I had the space and the privacy id consider chain set-ups.

unlacedgecko 1,466
Chain set up is where there are no pens. Dogs have a cabin/kennel to live in and are chained onto it with a length of chain. V popular in America, especially with game dog breeders. I would prefer to do it with my dogs, but is not really seen as socially acceptable in the UK...

Ridiculous how one of the best ways of keeping a dog is frowned upon over here................id have a dog on an overhead cable in preference to a chain....and definately in preference to a meshed run. It doesnt bother me that its frowned upon, only that its legal to do. Whatever you do though dont put a dog with an anti-bark collar on on a chain though.
staffs riffraff 1,068
Small dogs can be lifted easily over the top of bars if theres no roof so pups and terriers can be gone in blink of an eye without doing a thing to the run
