old school 488 Posted October 10, 2012 Report Share Posted October 10, 2012 your in the same boat as myself mate... i've a 93 2.5 shogun, i' gonna change it for something a bit fresher and easier on juice!! with the same budget as you i'm lookin at td4 freelanders, vitaris and the toyota rav 4, in diesels!! so far my research say that the freelanders are hit and miss even the 04 models with the new bmw engines can give electrical problems !! this past while i'm quite liking the rav4 and grand vitari but ground clearance might be an issue?? i also looked at the nissan x trial and its got good reviews but i didnt like the look of it!!! ruby16 80 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Share Posted October 11, 2012 HAD QUITE A FEW OVER THE YEARS, RUNNING A SUZUKI GRAND VITARA NOW AND I WOULDN'T RUN ANYTHING ELSE, COPES WITH EVERY SITUATION ON OR OFF ROAD, (pulled a few discos out of trouble), good mpg also mate. Has been 'modded' a bit, well its standard apart from a 'roof conversion', but its the dogs nuts for lamping both rabbit and fox!!
